Revival Insights

As a student of revival, I aim to provide valuable insights into how historical revivals can inform our understanding of contemporary issues. By examining societal trends through the lens of the Bible, we can gain a deeper appreciation for God's work in the world and our role in it.

One quick thought about Revival.

PREPARATION is key;  Every Revival must be preceded by preparation.

Prayer is one of those key elements in prayer 2 Chron.7:14 is a common text, but its application is always relevant. If people don't pray, nothing will happen. I understand God's sovereignty and that He can move when and where He so chooses, but the Lord has allowed us a lot of flexibility, and prayer is something that must be a priority prior to and during a revival meeting. Set aside some time for prayer and fasting, and focus on particular things to pray for, such as new converts, miracles, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, among others.

Another element is the evangelistic thrust that must take place before any meeting. Don't cut corners when it comes to advertising. If the advertisement looks cheap, you'll be doing yourself harm. Take the time to invest in effective advertising, including flyers, social media, and posters.  The investment will pay off. Along with that, there must be effort put in to reaching the masses, which means planning and scheduling outreaches and impact teams ahead of time to make more impact and see more results in the upcoming revival meeting

In short, preparation is an intangible that must be a part of your efforts to have and see  revival

Biblical Perspectives on Social Issues

Charlie Kirk -- the hated voice of truth

My heart goes out to his wife Erika and his two kids, so sad to be left alone at the hands of a person who's confused, filled with anger and hate, and felt compelled to take the life of an innocent man for nothing more than stating his opinion.

Now that it's been over a week since this tragedy, I'm watching how divisive this subject has overwhelmed the public square, social media, and news outlets across our great nation.

It makes me realize just how much hate there is for anyone who speaks truth from a biblical perspective. How dare anyone, including myself, share the truth with people in the public square? It's as though free speech is only free if others agree with you, and if not, then you should be shut down at all costs.

Tolerance is the big byword of today, but only if you agree with the subject matter. But as a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, as well as a preacher of the gospel, I know very well that the bible can be very intolerant on certain subject matter, especially when it comes to creation and moral issues.

There is a right and a wrong to everything, especially when using God's word as your basis for life.

THERE REALLY IS NO SUCH THING AS YOUR TRUTH

It's just an excuse to justify your life choices, immorality, perversion, and hatred of God's word, and it's a clear instruction on life and morality.

THE HARD TRUTH

Christianity has always influenced our nation, wehter you care to admit it or not.

For example;

The Great Awakening of the 1,700's laid the foundation of our nation, and it was the preachers who were sowing the seed of God's truth concerning human rights and freedom from tyranny. The British Empire actually called the unrest in the colonies a Presbyterian rebellion and actually sought out and killed preachers and burned their property in the early stages. There are several books on this topic if you care to investigate for yourself

TYRANTS ALWAYS WANT TO KILL THE VOICE

The Abolitionist movement was birthed by Christians to liberate slaves, and it was based on their love for God and all men, knowing that slavery was a crime against humanity. This eventually became a political hotbed and even divided this great nation in the 1,800's. The Civil War was the byproduct of this social and political issue, and it eventually cost the life of one of the greatest Presidents of our nation. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated because somebody felt obliged to kill the voice of reason during this time of hostility and confusion

HATE ALWAYS WANTS TO KILL THE VOICE OF REASON

In the late 1950's during the time of integration in the South, Martin Luther King Jr. spoke from the pulpit to his members about all men being created equal. This was all fine in the church till he took it to the open square. That's when tension began to rise. When you take debate and reason to the open square, those blinded by their own prejudice can not and will not see truth or reason. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated because of people's own prejudice and blindness to truth and reason.

PREJUDICE ALWAYS WANTS TO KILL THE VOICE OF TRUTH

What happened last week to Charlie Kirk was just another sad validation of people's hatred, blindness, and prejudice towards those who bring truth, conversation, and debate to the open square, especially when it comes from a biblical perspective, from a person who declares faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior

THE HATRED IS REAL, BUT LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Jesus said, because lawlessness would abound, the love of many would grow cold. (don't let that be you)

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

Till next time, keep on keeping on
